A few generations ago, there was no reason for women to seek a career – they were expected to find satisfaction staying at home and looking after their kids and other family members only. But in today’s world, women go to work and come back home only to do the bulk of household chores. And, if British researchers are to be believed, career women actually end up working longer hours than men.
According to the researchers at Cambridge University, while men may spend longer at the office, it is the women who work more each week if domestic and paid employment is added together, the Daily Telegraph reported here today.
“The average man in full-time employment works about 55 hours a week. In the United Kingdom, that figure includes about 3.6 hours commuting, and eight hours of domestic work such as cleaning, cooking and child care. By contrast, the average working week for a woman in full-time employment in the European Union is 68 hours. For British women, that comprise 40 hours in the office, 3.3 hours commuting and 23 hours a week spent doing domestic work. But even women who work part time put in longer hours overall than men in full-time work, because they do so many household chores. Women with part-time jobs work on average 57 hours a week. That is made up of 21.3 hours in paid work, 2.4 hours commuting and 32.7 hours of domestic work,” according to the British researchers.
According to celebrities and designers everywhere, skinny jeans are back in style. The difference is that the ‘new skinny jeans’ tend to hug all your curves while being very comfortable, have a snug fit through the legs and end in a small leg opening. The leg openings are narrower than their boot leg counterparts. They tend to lengthen the limbs without being suggestive like the mini skirt. Skinny jeans have been paired with knee-high boots and snug jackets by Kate Moss (considered being at the forefront of this trend). Closed-toe heels and metallic tunics by Hillary Duff, and pointy-toed flats and kimono wraps by Angelina Jolie.
These jeans are usually paired with hip-length tunics that hug the waist, or with a hip-length jacket with a hip-length shirt underneath, or even with a sleeveless top that is almost hip-length. Define your waist with a wide belt if your top is on the voluminous side. For fall, skinny jeans are also popular pairing partners for ankle boots and knee-high boots that are perfectly in sync with them. Pair them up with knit dresses, jumpers, long sweaters, and even little black dresses!
Not only jeans, even pants now have a slimmer, more body conscious cut and silhouette. These look absolutely great with light jackets, waistcoats and crisp shirts. Pair them up with flat ballerinas or muted pumps. These tend to take you through the day, from the office to a night out on the town. They are the perfect means for all you fusionists out there to have that killer fashion edge over others. You’ll find such pants at all major retail and brands stores. So go out there and remember to keep it stylish.
“It is not what you eat that kills you; it is what eats you (your negative thoughts) that kills you.”
The first ever scientific study of the connection between diet and the heart diseases began in Framtngham village ill Massachusetts.
This study, which spent $110 million of the American tax payers money, started in 1954 when the fat theory of atherosclerosis, a vessel hardening process was at its height of glory.
The media and the world do not know that this study results were not published and the results were buried in the archives of that hallowed institution By the time the study) results came in 1959 there were already multibillion dollar diet industries that were selling fat lowering diets and concoctions.
The powerful industries possibly did not allow the results to be published as the study showed that what one eats has nothing to do with heart diseases or any other disease as long as one does not overeat and become obese. The fat theory thrives in the medical world and the pharmaceutical industry despite many gaping holes in the theory.
The cholesterol lowering drugs are the biggest money pinners. I am sure the lobbies would go to any extent to keep their rice bowl intact.
Recent studies have says,An infant smiles at everyone and everything unless it is hungry or has pain, when it cries. How many of us grown up people, would be able to smile at some one naturally? That is the main difference between an infant and us, adults. The drastic difference in the hearts function in the two groups mentioned earlier, the infant and the adult, is also significant
The infant has “sinus arrhythmia”, the heart runs faster when the infant takes a breath in and slows down when it breathes out. This healthy heart rate variability (HRV) gradually gets blurred as we grow and harbour negative thoughts like anger, pride, ego, jealousy and hatred (hostility) to finally become very flegular just before death!
